Still Uruguay-Salta
THE MOST BORING COUNTRY IN THE WORLD,
After four days in Uruguay this is the most interesting photo i can find It might be better in the summer months but now its is shite, it was raining and ever the locals were so bored all they did all day was cruise the main streets on their mopeds, a hundred middle aged people on mopeds, it gave the place an atmosphere somewhere between Longford and Bray Got out of there as soon as we could,
They did get very excited about leaves though, you would swear it was a national crisis, they had forty men and five trucks on the main street working like dogs all day to clear up fallen leaves after a particularly windy day, I expected to see the national guard pull up and be issued with iodine tablets, it was like they were trying to sandbag a flooding river,

4/5/09 Journey Begins
(Cailín looks like she took her fist full of sleeping tablets too early)

First glimpse of South America while on way back from jacks on plane

First impressions of Buenos Aires? I've found someone with a more beat up and rusty car than me, and another and another.....

Hostel receptionist slags Cailín's spanish five minutes later cailin decides she hates Buenos Aires we tackle our first steak, of many
typical dinner after an hour trying to find the resturant in the book get hungry and settle for anywhere with lino, I LOVE LINO. order in english/handsignal the look in one of three books to find how you say 'give me the bill before I stick this chair up your arse waiter boy"
three days in and Cailín likes Buenos Aires again and I decide I hate everyone who says BA instead of Buenos Aires
Getting ready for first night out in Buenos Aires, everything of any value is secreted in Cailín's many pouches, pockets, purses and the all important money belt, I broke mine with a full term food baby i was gestating after a particularly big steak,
just a small sample from Cailín's photographic collection entitled "Statues with nipples"
First sign that the socialist revolution that has gripped Irish banks has spread to South America
saw some homeless people dancing with pidgeons on the street for breadcrumbs, Cailín found somewhere that teaches the "Pigeon Dance" and we become experts immediately teacher doesn't speak any english and we don't speak any pigeon but it all works out.... except.....
we are dancing in a small art gallery with hiking boots on us and beer in us
Argentinian wine isn't all crap, just some of it,
