4/5/09 Journey Begins

Dublin Airport
(Cailín looks like she took her fist full of sleeping tablets too early)

First glimpse of South America while on way back from jacks on plane

First impressions of Buenos Aires? I've found someone with a more beat up and rusty car than me, and another and another.....

Hostel receptionist slags Cailín's spanish five minutes later cailin decides she hates Buenos Aires we tackle our first steak, of many

typical dinner after an hour trying to find the resturant in the book get hungry and settle for anywhere with lino, I LOVE LINO. order in english/handsignal the look in one of three books to find how you say 'give me the bill before I stick this chair up your arse waiter boy"

three days in and Cailín likes Buenos Aires again and I decide I hate everyone who says BA instead of Buenos Aires

my new found discovery of digital editing software means it now looks like Cailín fucking LOVES Buenos Aires

we let loose in our room (which is decorated like the Ballymun flats) with some €4 "champagne" and some chest hair

Getting ready for first night out in Buenos Aires, everything of any value is secreted in Cailín's many pouches, pockets, purses and the all important money belt, I broke mine with a full term food baby i was gestating after a particularly big steak,

eating steak and drinking beer again, over my shoulder is the worst jazz band this continent has to offer, every song the play sounds like they have nearly remembered what 'Take Five' sounds like tried

to steal this car but was defeated by the padlock holding the bonnet inplace, in reflection this padlock may have been a structural item as this car is actually rear engined

got a walking tour from the biggest nerd in the world, he is the one with the long hair, glasses and a podge Father Christmas would have been proud of (Eoin two out three ain't bad)

just a small sample from Cailín's photographic collection entitled "Statues with nipples"

First sign that the socialist revolution that has gripped Irish banks has spread to South America

saw some homeless people dancing with pidgeons on the street for breadcrumbs, Cailín found somewhere that teaches the "Pigeon Dance" and we become experts immediately teacher doesn't speak any english and we don't speak any pigeon but it all works out.... except.....

we are dancing in a small art gallery with hiking boots on us and beer in us

Argentinian wine isn't all crap, just some of it,

this picture illustrates two things, Ford Falcons are everywhere in Buenos Aires and Cailín can't stand still for five seconds,

This is the aftermath of the best steak i will ever have in my life, I quite emotional after realising this, I'M ONLY 24 I'VE PEAKED TOO SOON, i shouted across the crowded restaurant, the next day we flee across the border to Uruguay,

  1. That's absolutely classic, upon seeing my rival nerd i've started frantically growing my hair. I'll get you rival nerd!!
Cailín reminds me of someone in that distorted photo, i'll figure out who, it's like tom cruise or something.

You both should have hid in the front of that red car, and hitched a lift to where ever that heavenly chariot took you... as long as it wasn't to a terrorists camp because that would be a downer.
