On to Vietnam's capital Hanoi,

First night hungrily followed directions in the newest "2009 edition of Lonely Planet Vietnam" to a nearby restaurant only to discover a Jewellers at the exact address, nothing new for Lonely Planet there, but the fact that the sign said "Since 1987" was.
Sad thing is that we have tried other guide books and they are either just as bad or worse.

Next morning went to an old market that's been there for hundreds of years.
First we when through a gate in the old city walls

Then round the corner there were buckets and buckets of still wriggling fish
>

Including this lady killing bags full of frogs with the back of a hatchet and then piling their squirming sliding bodies on a weighting scales,

Out of the market and onto the street where I found the motherload!,
A shop that sells nothing but tape!
NOTHING BUT TAPE!!!
hundreds of different types,
I was light headed.

Further into the maze of streets we found blacksmiths cutting up slabs of aluminium with nothing but chisels and sledgehammers,

Next on the walking tour was a Christian church in a Communist country!

Cailín had a hard time fitting me and Eoin's heads and feet photo's, she had to stand very far away and nearly lye on the ground.

Hanoi surrounds a lake,

with a temple on it

A nice peaceful place

to go to the toilet,

until your brother sneaks up on you and takes a photo of you peeing.

Otherwise we were entirely respectful.
As always,

This small statue thing was covered in "Johno Loves Antho" kinds graffiti, tried to get Cailín to write something explicit but she was too polite.

Went to a Blues club, the best in Hanoi, also the only one in Hanoi but it was still good.

There is a Lego store in Hanoi,
I don't know why I found this weird I just did.
